They shall mingle with the seed of men. They shall not cleave. The stone was already cut.

IRON & CLAY: LEARNING MACHINES is a Daniel reading of the generation when humanoid machines multiply. One sentence in Daniel 2. Iron mixed with miry clay. A mingling with the seed of men. A marriage that does not hold. An alliance that does not make a kingdom one. The sentence is older than the laboratory, the summit, and the wedding photograph. It does not need this book in order to be true. It needs a reader who will not sand it down into a headline.

Do not come here for a villain. A man who describes a merger of mind and machine is not thereby a prophet, and he is not thereby the enemy of the chapter. Hear what was said. Then hear the older sentence. Do not come here for a party. The feet of the statue are partly strong and partly broken on every shore. The verse is about the mixture, not about the blood of a people. Do not come here for a date. The dream is certain, and the interpretation sure. Certainty is not a product roadmap. In the days of these kings, the God of heaven sets up a kingdom that shall not be destroyed.

If you love strength, read slowly. Iron is praised for what it does to everything else, and then shown unable to stand on iron alone. If you love the church, read without envy. Historic is not the same as holding. The kingdom that holds is not married into the statue. Bless the bedside. Refuse the destiny. Use the tool. Do not bow. God is not a larger computer. Jesus is not the next metal.

More than one hundred pages. Read the verse before you read the news. Keep a Bible open. Where three English doors differ, the difference is a door, not a stutter.
